Members present and defend Youth Standing Committee Reports before the Panel of Experts
Lahore, December 17; Members of Youth Standing Committee presented and defended their reports before the Panel of Experts. The Committees were assigned to develop a set of recommendations on the following report topics:

The panel that evaluated Committee reports included Mr. Shahid Hamid, Senior Constitutional Expert/Member YPAP Steering Committee, Ms. Tehmina Habib, Deputy Secretary Youth Affairs, Government of Punjab/Member YPAP Steering Committee, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmed Ali, Punjab Information Commissioner and Ms. Khushboo Ejaz, Member YPAP Steering Committee/Professor Kinnaird College, Lahore. The panel interacted with young Members through a rigorous Q &A session. The experts concluded the session with the final evaluation of the Committee Reports. They scored the Committees based on the presentation skills, practicality of the proposed recommendations put forward and the dissemination plan shared by the young Members in their reports.
Mr. Inayatullah Lak, D.G. Research & Parliamentary Affairs, Provincial Assembly of Punjab, addressed YPAP session today on the Devolution process in the Punjab province. Talking about why Local Government is important, Mr. Lak emphasised that distinctive goals can be achieved through putting in place the system of devolution in a country. It gives equal opportunity to the citizens to participate in the policy making of a country. It also helps build a healthy ground for future leadership. Mr. Inayatullah Lak further explained the functions, powers and responsibilities of the Local Government. He also suggested that local self Government must be re organised and big cities must be given status of metropolitan Government.
Mr. Mohammad Ahmad Hotiana; (YPAP30-Pakpattan01);Syed Muhammad Osama Rizvi (YPAP18-Lahore01)Mr. Asad Ur Rehman Bajwa (YPAP38-Sialkot01), Ms. Shanza Zafar (YPAP35-Sahiwal01) and Mr. Huzafa Jamil (YPAP28-Narowal01) suggested that Punjab Youth Counseling Centres should be established at Tehsil levels in order to provide direction and clarity in career orientation for the youth of Punjab province and also to enhance effectiveness of the education sector. They presented and discussed the resolution in the House today.
Punjab Government should take initiatives for Inter Provincial exchange programmes in order to take care of differences with the people of other regions of Pakistan. These exchange programmes should give an opportunity of the youth of Punjab province to interact and share their views with the youth of the other regions and provinces of Pakistan and to learn and enhance their knowledge. This was suggested in a resolution presented on the floor of the House by Mr. Muhammad Abdullah (YPAP-13-Jhelum01), Mr. Qasim Sarfraz (YPAP-05-Chakwal01) and Mr. Muhammad Faisal Afzal (YPAP-04-Bhakkar01).
The House adopted both resolutions simultaneously with a majority.
Members will enter the third and last phase of the exclusive training and workshop by Mr. Raheem Ul Haque, Senior Research Fellow, Center for Public Policy & Governance, FC College, Lahore.
